This highly interactive program focuses on influencing as a key leadership skill for achieving outstanding results.
Influencing isn’t simply about what you know, but also about how you work with others, your skill in persuading them to help you, and understanding your organizational context.
Sometimes, your success may depend on co-operation from people over whom you have no line management authority.
You will be introduced to a range of strategic tools and techniques.
During the week you will have the opportunity to apply them to your own specific work challenges, using a range of experiential learning approaches.
Course outline:
The Impact and Influencing model: the program process and context, including a personal impact exercise
Impactful influencing: understanding the psychology of personal impact and how to enhance your approach
Your influencing style: using the Strength Deployment Inventory® tool you will receive feedback on your style and how others perceive you
Strategic influencing tools: introduction to a range of tools, techniques and approaches, including the opportunity to develop your skills in practical exercises
Achieving results with others: an experiential exercise where participants will work together to reach an effective outcome
The organizational dimension: introduction to techniques for dealing with pressure and resistance and developing political savvy
An integrative exercise: a practical and experiential process working with participants own issues in a live setting to practise impactful influencing
Planning for action: developing personal action plans which can be applied on your return to work.
